Abstract: In order to resolve the problem of difficulty coring operations with low recovery rate in loose and soft formations in QHD-6 reservoir of Bohai Golf, an American Posiclose Coring Tool was imported and five coring operation trips of the total coring footage of 33.10 m were conducted. The total core length was 27.45 m and the recovery rate was 82.93%, by 48% higher than using the conventional 250 P coring tool. Its basic structure, technical specifications, working mechanism and rig-site application results were presented in this paper.
