Abstract: Underbalanced drilling technology is widely used in petroleum drilling today. This paper tries to give an overview on this technology, including its definition, advantages and disadvantages, formation suitable, equipment needed, restricts and limitations, and its present state and prospect. Some suggestions are given on the application of this technology in China.
