Abstract: This paper introduces the sidetracking of short radius horizontal wells in the ?139.7mm casing in Shengli Oilfield. Some issues on it are discussed, which mainly involves the selection of sidetracking method, the profile design of well trajectory, the determination of a reasonable angle building rate, and trajectory control and measurement, etc. Some methods and recommendations on how to deal with those issues are also proposed.
