Abstract: there are a lot of disputes on the choice of nontarget or separated zone profile control strategies. For the near-wellbore decompose and farther-zone plugging flocci system, the composition, mechanism of action and optimized formulary of both nontarget and separated zone system were studied. By comparing the oil increasing extent of the two systems, we found that the nontarget profile control system was better than the separated zone profile control system. The potential reason may be due to the intelligent function of profile control plugging agents. Under the guidance of the study, the profile control operations in Zhongyuan oilfield had gained great effect.
