Abstract:
The uneven abrasion between sucker rod and tubing in oil wells resulted in rod break-off, tubing leakage and frequent operation, seriously influencing the normal production of southern Dagang Oilfield. Integration of a review of 165 serious abrasion wells with theoretical calculation of rod down-stroke resistance showed that main abrasion reasons were rod down-stroke bending caused by high stroke per minute, high water cut and low submergence depth and well deviation. This paper presents such measures as increasing weight at the bottom of rod, installing centralizer at neutral point and application of big flow-channel pump to reduce rod down-stroke bending. To reduce the uneven abrasion caused by well deviation, these measures can be taken including decreasing bottom weighted rod, continuous centralizer in uneven abrasion section, upper extensive protection and rotary wellhead. Suitable working system can reduce string resonance. Application reveals these methods have reduced uneven abrasion in southern Dagang Oilfield.
