  • Based on the basic method of API RP 11L, a method for design and plan of pumping well, which can predict the future working conditions of oil well, make optimum selection and overall plan of pumping units, and reduce effectively the primary investment and operating cost, is presented in this paper. The designs and plans by this method are reasonable in technique and economics. In addition, a design method of weighting rod, which can ensure neutral point is in weighting rod, and reduce the rod parting nearby neutral point, are preliminarily solved.
