DERIVATION AND APPLICATIONS OF THE EQUATION FOR RHEOLOGY OF POWER LAW FLUID IN CORE

  • With the uninterrupted development of indoor and field tests on chemical flooding, it is necessary for technical staff to study the rheology of chemical reagent in porous media. This paper introduces a equation for rheology of power law fluid. The conclusion from qualitative analysis on the equation is the shear rate and shear stress of power law fluid have something to do with percolation flow velocity and behavior of porous media, and the shear rate has something to do with fluid behavior and the shear stress nothing with rheological index of fluid. This paper is also introduces its application in core test. In view of the effect of tensile stress, adsorption and retention on power-law fluid in porous media, this equation has certain limitation.
