SIDETRACKING TECHNOLOGY IN WENMINGZHAI OILFIELD

A new sidetracking technology is conducted in Zhongyuan Oilfield, which leads the sidetracking in the original open hole with the casing pulled out. Comparing with window milling in the 139.7mm casing, this technology avoids the use of small size bit and the difficulty of cementing in the slim-hole, thus greatly improves ROP and the cementing quality. Casing pulling operations and sidetracking in 3 wells are described in detail, and it proves to be a good alternative to conventional sidetracking in cased wells.
