ANALYSIS TO SHALLOW GAS BLOWOUT IN SHENGLI OILFIELD AND ITS PREVENTING TECHNOLOGY

Shallow gas blowout is very dangerous and may cause serious damages, and preventing of it is a worldwide problem in drilling industry. As shallow gas reservoirs are widely distributed in Shengli oilfield, shallow gas blowout frequently takes place in this area. The four characteristics of shallow gas blowout in Shengli oilfield, as well as the seven causes were investigated, and a set of preventing measures have been applied accordingly, from the whole process of drilling engineering plan to field drilling operation and cementing. Field practices showed that these blowout preventing and controlling technologies are feasible, and can be carried out effectively in this area.
