Sectional production technology for horizontal wells

  • In order to reduce or control water cut increase in completion of complicated structure well with hanging screen, prolong the production life of horizontal well, sectional production technology is studied, which firstly squeezes ACP to divide the outer pipe into different sections to form an impermeable high-strength slug packing annular region between screen pipe and side wall. As a result, external packing is achieved and water area is directly packed. Then the packer and switching valve are run into the annular region to form sectional pipe column. Through opening or closing the switching valve, the target of looking for water and producing low water cut interval. This paper introduces the column structure, working principle and field test of the technology.
